Credit Counseling And The Dude Ends Up In Jail

When the Dude said, "Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber," what do you suppose he was referring to?

Leading Up to Credit Counseling

Well, we know he wasn't talking about your credit - but he, in fact has plenty to say on the topic. The Dude once landed in a little, rickety hole-in-the-wall cell with a dirt floor in Tijuana. In the midst of the DTs that set in for lack of Khalua - the Dude began to sweat and had a high fever. He became delirious and began, for the first time in his life, to pray.

How did this come about? Well, as you know, when one is hit by a fever, the mind can start to play tricks on the poor soul unfortunate enough to be in that position. Cycling thoughts come and go, elusive and fleeting, random with no meaning. In the case of the Dude, for whatever reason, the line/scream from one of his favorite bands' songs, "YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD WITH PRAYER," sounded through his head, causing mostly annoyance at first at the slapdash intrusion, but then evolving into a strange kind of rhythm and, finally - acceptance.

Jesus is the way.

What? No. No. Too much for the Dude. For some, sure, but never for the Dude. On his knees, he did pray. He prayed for an end to the fever. He prayed to see the light. When he would eventually be released from the cockroach-infested, dingy prison cell, smelling of years of vomit and other suspicious vapors of years past - he'd do anything. This is what the Dude vowed he would do - if only a higher power of some sort would release him from his prison: call his mother every Sunday; clean out his closets and take vitamins; plant flowers; get credit counseling - what? - credit counseling? Consumer credit counseling? Where did that come from?

Sure, in order to become a better person, the Dude was willing to do whatever it would take. And so can you. The Dude is with you, always. Just like the Dude's debt solutions.
